Israel undermining Obama using fifth columnists

President Obama may feel besieged by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and its allies over their strident opposition to the P5+1 nuclear deal with Iran but the American president is but one of a long line of Western leaders who have been faced with an Israeli-directed fifth column in their own countries.

Israel backers shirk off the notion of dual loyalists—those who have divided loyalties between the country of their citizenship and Israel—as anti-Semitic rhetoric but President Obama has a point about AIPAC critics and others, including Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY), who have opted to support the Israeli government over the Iran deal over their own president. In Schumer’s case, he is also bucking the titular head of his own political party.

In the case of neocon Republican Bible thumpers like Senators Tim Cotton (R-AR) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC), both of whom recently served in the military, their “God” is the major “Israel Firster,” billionaire casino magnate and noted Macao gangster Sheldon Adelson. Their military chain-of-command has the Israeli government sitting over President Obama.

In a historic speech at American University, Obama called the Israel Lobby out on their perfidy. “The lobbying that is taking place on the other side is fierce, it is well-financed, it is relentless,” Obama said. Referencing the neocon opponents of the deal, Obama added, “you are going to see the same array of forces that got us into the Iraq War, leading to a situation in which we forgo a historic opportunity and we are back on the path of potential military conflict.”

Abraham Foxman of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), who never misses an opportunity to blow the “anti-Semite” dog whistle any time Israel and its dual loyalist supporters are singled out for criticism in the United States or elsewhere, said that Obama’s language could fuel and legitimize “anti-Semitic stereotypes out there that Jews are warmongers.”

If Foxman feels that those who strive for peace will bring about anti-Semitism, so be it. And really, after 70 years of collective guilt for the Holocaust being forced down the throats of every American, German, Canadian, Spaniard, Finn, Korean, Venezuelan, Equato-Guinean, and Samoan, no one really cares what Foxman and his ADL thinks. They have turned so-called anti-Semitism into legitimate political discourse by crying “wolf” (and not Blitzer) so often the term has become rather trite and meaningless.

Foxman wants to rewrite history. Well over 97 percent of the neocons who supported the invasion and occupation of Iraq, including Schumer, and those who signed the neocon charter document for continual warfare, the Project for the New American Century (PNAC), are Jewish. One can count on a single hand the non-Jewish signers of the PNAC charter (Jeb Bush, Dick Cheney, John Bolton, and a couple of others). PNAC and the Iraq duplicity are historical millstones that people like Foxman, Schumer, and others will have to bear for the rest of their miserable lives, whether they like it or not.

Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is not the first Israeli prime minister to undermine an American president who disagreed with Israel. Menachem Begin began what can be termed as an aggressive policy toward foreign leaders, including American presidents, who disagreed with Israel. Jimmy Carter received Israeli-led opposition from Israel’s Jewish fifth columnists in the United States over his pressure on Israel to agree to the Camp David peace agreement. Ronald Reagan faced Israeli recriminations over the sale of AWACS planes to Saudi Arabia, George H W Bush over his denial of U.S. loan guarantees for Israeli settlements in the West Bank, and, now, Obama is facing the disloyalty of pro-Israeli American Jews in a showdown with Israel over the Iran nuclear pact. In fact, it was Presidents Dwight Eisenhower and John F. Kennedy who first felt the heat of Israel’s Lobby in the United States—Eisenhower over his opposition to the Israel invasion of Sinai and the Suez Canal in 1956 and Kennedy over his opposition to Israel receiving U.S. nuclear materials to construct atomic bombs.

President Gerald Ford actually threatened to halt all U.S. aid to Israel over its intransigence on withdrawing from Sinai, which it had occupied during the 1973 Yom Kippur War. Ford wrote the following to Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin:

“I wish to express my profound disappointment over Israel’s attitude in the course of the negotiations . . . Failure of the negotiation will have a far reaching impact on the region and on our relations. I have given instructions for a reassessment of United States policy in the region, including our relations with Israel, with the aim of ensuring that overall American interests . . . are protected. You will be notified of our decision.”

“Reassessment” meant a suspension in U.S. military and financial aid. Israel’s agents-of-influence in the United States immediately used their influence in the media to paint Ford as an ineffective and clumsy president. In addition, AIPAC saw to it that 76 members of the U.S. Senate signed a letter to Ford urging him to approve further aid to Israel to the tune of $2.5 billion. At the time of the request, America was suffering from a stagflation economy and skyrocketing inflation. That was of no concern to AIPAC and the 76 senators it owned and operated.

Even Harry Truman, who, against the wishes of Secretary of State George Marshall and Secretary of Defense James Forrestal, recognized the independence of the state of Israel, later regretted that decision. Truman wrote about the Jewish lobbyists for Israel who pressured him into recognition of the Jewish state: “I received about 35,000 pieces of mail and propaganda from the Jews in this country while this matter [recognition] was pending. I put it all in a pile and struck a match to it.”

The only presidents that Israel could rely on for unwavering support were Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon (who, nevertheless, did not hide his own anti-Semitism when it concerned his political opponents), Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush. Nixon, it should be noted, did not entirely trust his national security adviser Henry Kissinger when it came to the Middle East and Israel policies. In the Oval Office tapes, Nixon is heard saying, “Anybody who is Jewish cannot handle it.”

The papers of Franklin Roosevelt indicate that had he lived to finish his fourth term, FDR would not have rushed to recognize a Jewish state in Palestine even though he was already under pressure to do so from such prominent Jews as Justice Felix Frankfurter and Bernard Baruch. FDR indicated that Arab governments would have a final say in American recognition of a Jewish state in Palestine.

It is not only other American presidents who Obama shares the distinction of feeling the wrath of the Israeli domestic political hammer. Greek Prime Minister Andreas Papandreou’s support for the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) earned the wrath of Israel. It was Papandreou’s son, Georgios Papandreou, who helped reverse Greece’s longstanding support for the Arabs by engineering closer relations with Israel at the same time he was selling out Greece to the global bankers. In addition to driving a wedge within foreign governments opposed to Israeli policies, Israel has no problem in doing the same within prominent political families as seen with the Papandreou father and son and George H W and his son George W. Bush.

When Cypriot President Archbishop Michael Mouskos Makarios was elected to establish close relations with the Arab world, Israel used Cypriot Turks and Cypriot and Greek Jews to undermine Makarios’s authority. Makarios faced four assassination attempts and a 1974 coup that resulted in a Turkish invasion and occupation of northern Cyprus. Israel played more than a passing role in all the anti-Makarios operations in Cyprus.

Israel despised Malta’s pro-Arab prime minister, Dom Mintoff, who said Palestinian terrorism against Israel was justified in the face of Israeli treatment of the Palestinian people. Mintoff also called Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Dayan a “madman.” Israel’s response was to undermine Mintoff within the ranks of Socialist International, of which Mintoff and Israeli Prime Minister Gold Meir were members. In 1973, the Royal Navy ship HMS Devonshire, on patrol near Malta, reported that two Israeli vessels were anchored one mile off Malta’s coast. Mintoff requested the ship use force, if necessary against the Israeli ships, and force them to dock at Valletta harbor. London ordered the Devonshire to take no action against the Israeli navy ships, which then departed the area. Israel used plants inside Malta’s opposition Nationalist Party to help foment, along with the CIA, a coup d’etat against Mintoff. A coup would not be necessary. Eventually, Malta’s fifth columnists for Israel gained political power. Today, Malta is a gateway for young Mossad agents entering Europe and Malta and Israel recently jointly issued a postage stamp celebrating 50 years of Israeli-Maltese relations. Today, some members of the Nationalist Party call for Israeli membership in the European Union.

Although Yugoslav leader Josip Broz Tito was among the first leaders to recognize Israel in 1948, his close relations with Egypt’s President Gamal Abdel Nasser resulted in Israeli machinations against Tito, mostly by Mossad’s attempt to stir up ethnic animosity within the socialist federation. When Yugoslavia voted in 1975 for a UN General Assembly resolution equating Zionism with racism, Israel began to increase its ethnic trouble making in Yugoslavia. This eventually helped lead to U.S. and NATO intervention in the country and the splitting of the nation into seven independent republics.

Although UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher was a firm friend of Israel, that friendship had its limits when, in 1979, Begin launched into a tirade against Thatcher’s foreign secretary, Lord Carrington, while meeting with them both at Number 10 Downing Street. Carrington was an outspoken opponent of Jewish settlements in the occupied territories. Thatcher also agreed that the settlements were a peace deal killer. Thatcher, in conversations with French President Valery Giscard d’Estaing, said that in Begin, she “never had a more difficult man to deal with.” The sentiments were similar to those echoed by French President Nicolas Sarkozy about Netanyahu in a meeting with Obama. Both Thatcher and Giscard d’Estaing faced opposition from Jewish ranks within their own parties over their intentions to grant increased political recognition to the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) of Yassir Arafat.

Another French president who considered the Israelis pushy and arrogant was Jacques Chirac. During a 1996 visit to Israel, Chirac confronted Israeli security guards who corralled a group of reporters who wanted to ask Chirac a few questions. Chirac yelled at his Israeli “handlers,” saying, “What, do you want me to go back to my plane and go back to France? Is that what you want? Let them go!” No one ever had to convince Chirac about the “pushiness” of the Israelis, he witnessed it for himself, just as President Francois Hollande witnessed it when Netanyahu, not invited to the post-Charlie Hebdo shooting observance in Paris, pushed his way to the front of the line of world leaders boarding a bus for a unity photo opportunity in Paris.

When Arafat visited the Irish prime minister, Bertie Ahern, in Dublin, Ahern infuriated Netanyahu by telling Arafat, “We will continue to support your cause in very way we can.” Ahern soon found himself facing a criminal probe for financial corruption and he resigned. However, Brian Cowen, Ahern’s successor, was as hard on Israel’s policies toward the Palestinians as was Ahern. The model used by Israel’s Lobby in replacing anti-Israeli leaders in Australia, New Zealand, and Canada with Zionists did not work out so well in Ireland.

Nor has Jewish pressure worked in Scotland. After Scottish National Party First Minister Alexander Salmond said in 2014, “The Muslim community of Scotland isn’t responsible in any shape or form for atrocities or extremism, just like a few weeks ago the Jewish community of Scotland wasn’t responsible for the policies of the state of Israel,” a reference to Israeli atrocities in Gaza, Scottish Jews became unglued. However, Jewish campaigning against Scotland’s independence referendum was a mere pyrrhic victory. In the last general election, the SNP won all but two of Scotland’s parliamentary seats in Westminster, a victory for the pro-Palestine SNP and a bitter defeat for the Israeli-influenced Labor, Liberal Democrat, and UK Independence parties.

The latest British political leader to feel to sting of the Israel Lobby is Labor Party chief-in-waiting Jeremy Corbyn. Wishing to return Labor to its past as champion for Britain’s working class, Corbyn is also unabashedly in favor of the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions program against Israel. The Israel Lobby, through its chief lickspittle, Tony Blair, has turned up the heat on Corbyn. But Blair and “New Labor” represent the interests of the Rothschild banking family, not of British miners, transport workers, National Health System personnel, and other working class people. Labor’s union rank-and-file members know who and what has transformed Labor into a corporate party that sings the praises of Israel’s illegal occupations and war crimes. The Israel Lobby is rallying behind feminist Laborite Yvette Cooper for control of the Labor Party. Cooper, who has more in common with the likes of George Soros than with a group of sweating British coal miners, is more to the liking of the “New Labor” sellouts like Blair and the aging Zionist pedophiles in the House of Lords.

The more British Zionists squeal like stuck pigs, the stronger Corbyn becomes. Corbyn also wrote a letter to the Anglican church in support of Vicar Stephen Sizer, who is a fierce critic of Israel’s policies in Palestine. Sizer and this editor were singled out for criticism by the Israel Lobby and its paid press agents and members of Congress for attending a 2014 meeting in Tehran that dealt, in part, with Israeli war crimes against humanity. The fierce criticism led to Sizer being sanctioned by the church and the FBI winding up on this editor’s doorstep not once but several times.

Since President Obama now finds himself in the same gun sights of the Israel Lobby as this editor, he can do the cause of freedom of the press a favor by ordering FBI director James Comey to cease and desist with his agents’ visits to all the American attendees of the Tehran conference, especially since President Obama is trying to usher into place a new era of U.S.-Iranian relations. This editor’s visit to Iran was in furtherance of the president’s goals and not in opposition to them. When it comes to the loud and obnoxious Israel Lobby in the United States, this editor stands united with our president and not the racist and fascist Jewish leader of Israel.

In Britain, the issue of dual loyalty arose when, in 2011, Labor Party MP Paul Flynn suggested that Matthew Gould, Britain’s first Jewish ambassador to Israel, had “divided loyalties.” For years, the United States declined sending Jewish ambassadors to Tel Aviv for the very same reason. That unwritten policy was changed in 1995 when Bill Clinton appointed the London-born Jew Martin Indyk as U.S. ambassador to Israel. Indyk later lost his security clearance after he was discovered to have been passing U.S. classified information to the Israelis. Indyk is as much a poster child for dual loyalists as are Jonathan Pollard, Ben-Ami Kadish, Zalman Shapiro, Stewart Nozette, Ariel Weinmann, and other notorious Jewish-American spies for Israel.

Another European leader who incurred the wrath of Israel and domestic Jewish pressure groups was Spanish Prime Minister Adolfo Suarez. Israel even enlisted one of its agents-of-influence in the United States, former Supreme Court Associate Justice and UN Ambassador Arthur Goldberg, to press Spain to recognize Israel. Goldberg made his demands on Suarez during a 1977 visit to Washington. Suarez refused to extend recognition until Israel withdrew from all the occupied territories. In 1979, Suarez became the first western European leader to formally welcome Arafat on an official visit to Spain. Suarez’s foreign minister, Marcelino Oreja, was treated shabbily during a 1979 meeting in New York with the heads of the Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations in the United States. After a heated 15-minute discussion, the Jewish representatives stormed out of the meeting with Oreja. The Mossad made extending Israeli influence over Spain a top priority. Today, Spain is such a willing tool of Israel, it has recently enacted a law allowing descendants of Spanish Jews who fled the Inquisition to receive Spanish citizenship. The same law does not apply to the descendants of Spanish Muslims who fled the Inquisition.

Israel and its fifth columnists also targeted Scandinavian countries where some national leaders took a very pro-Palestinian stance. These leaders included Norwegian Labor Party prime ministers Thorvald Stoltenberg, Knut Frydenlund, and Gro Harlem Brundtland. There should be little surprise that the massacre of Labor Party youth on the island of Utoya was carried out by a rabid anti-Muslim fascist supporter of Israel, Anders Behring Breivik. Norwegian Foreign Minister Jorgen Holst, the architect of the Oslo Peace Accords, died from a sudden heart attack in 1993 at the age of 53. Holst was in perfect physical shape. Many Norwegians believe he fell victim to a Mossad bio-weapon assassination.

Holst’s successor, Bjorn Tore Godal, toned down his criticism of Israel. Godal once called for the elimination of the Jewish state of Israel and its replacement with a multi-religious and multi-ethnic state encompassing Jews, Muslims, and Christians. Godal remains a Labor Party official, but he has been downgraded in status, going from foreign minister to ambassador to Germany and an adviser on international energy issues.

Sweden’s Social Democratic Prime Minister Olof Palme irritated Israel and Sweden’s Jews when he welcomed Arafat to Stockholm in 1983. Palme was gunned down by an assassin in Stockholm in 1986. Sweden’s Social Democratic pro-Palestinian foreign minister, Anna Lindh, was stabbed to death in Stockholm in 2003.

Finnish President Urho Kekkonen and Austria’s Chancellor Bruno Kreisky, who was of Jewish descent, came in for vicious attacks from Israel and their domestic Jewish sectors for steering their nations into more pro-Palestinian positions and calls for Israeli withdrawal from the occupied territories. Shortly after making the following statement: “Israel was the problem preventing peace in the Middle East,” Danish Prime Minister Anker Jorgensen resigned as prime minister without an election playing a role. He was replaced by the more pro-Israeli Conservative Party leader Poul Schluter. Israel and Denmark’s Jews worked behind the scenes to see the end of Jorgensen’s premiership.

When Australian Labor Party Prime Minister Gough Whitlam steered his country into a more even-handed policy in the Middle East, forging closer relations with the Palestinians and other Arabs, Israel set its influence machine into full action in Australia. In 1975, Governor General John Kerr dismissed Whitlam as prime minister without an election. Among those who were set upon Whitlam’s government were a Zionist newspaper publisher named Rupert Murdoch. Whitlam’s Labor Party nemesis, Bob Hawke, was featured in Murdoch’s papers calling Whitlam “immoral, unethical, and ungrateful” toward Israel. Hawke would eventually be rewarded with the prime minister’s office for his bowing down before Israel and its Australian political sanhedrin.

Whitlam’s conservative successor, Malcolm Fraser, had his own brush up with the Israel Lobby. In his recent book, “Dangerous Allies,” Fraser wrote that, according to his own confidential sources, Israel deliberately bombed the USS Liberty in 1967, killing 34 U.S. Navy and National Security Agency civilian personnel. The Jewish “Amen Chorus” in Australia responded by calling Fraser’s allegation a “mad, demented conspiracy theory.” Former Labor Foreign Minister Bob Carr, who served in the Julia Gillard government, said Israel’s Lobby wielded too much power in Australia. In a display of bi-partisan anger over Australian Jewish dual loyalists, Fraser has publicly agreed with Carr over the power of the Israel Lobby in Australia.

When Fraser was asked about his views on an Australian radio show, the pro-Israeli host stated that Australia’s Italians also lobbied the government. Fraser responded by stating, “I don’t think the Italian community, just to take one example, try to get us to follow any particular policies in relation to Italy. And that’s the difference . . . The Jewish community seek to get Australia to support policies as defined by Israel.”

Australia’s current prime minister, Tony Abbott, as was his predecessor Gillard, is firmly in the Israeli camp. On the other hand, former Labor Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, who has changed his previously-held position on Israeli treatment of the Palestinians by becoming much more critical of it, has come in for harsh rhetoric from Australia’s Israel Firsters.

Across the Tasman Sea, the situation is much the same. When New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark suspended diplomatic relations with Israel in 2005 over the Jewish state’s forgery of New Zealand passports, not only Israel but the neocons within the U.S. State Department, launched a blistering criticism of Clark. She was accused of hammering Israel for its criminal activity because New Zealand was establishing an embassy in Cairo and was pursuing trade deals with Arab states that, among other things, was intended to open new markets for New Zealand lamb and other products. The American demarche against New Zealand was contained in State Department cables revealed to WikiLeaks. Israel ensured that New Zealand would not be a problem again. New Zealand’s current prime minister, John Key, is the son of a Jewish mother and is considered by Israel to be not only Jewish but fully eligible for Israeli citizenship.

During the 1979 Canadian election, Conservative leader Joe Clark promised to move Canada’s embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau accused Israeli Prime Minister Begin of interfering in Canadian politics, a charge that is being echoed today by Obama in relation to Netanyahu’s interference in American politics. On a trip to Palestine, Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien sent the Israel Lobby in Canada into “red alert” status when he said that Canada might support a Palestinian universal declaration of independence as a pressure point on Israel for the resumption of negotiations. Chretien soon walked back his proposal after the shofar horns loudly blared in Ottawa, Toronto, and the Mount Royal neighborhood of Montreal.

Today, Canada has a rabidly pro-Israeli prime minister in Stephen Harper. Moreover, his opponents in the upcoming October election, the New Democrats’ Tom Mulcair, the Liberals’ Justin Trudeau—the man whose father accused Israel of interference in Canadian domestic politics—and Green leader Elizabeth May have all sworn fealty to Israel. Mulcair, whose wife and children are Jewish, is as much pro-Israeli as Harper and he has shown it by purging pro-Palestinian NDP parliamentary candidates from the party’s electoral rosters in Nova Scotia and Quebec.

In his criticism of the Israel Lobby and its influence-peddling in Washington, President Obama joins a long list of other American presidents who have rejected dictates from the “pushy” Israeli agents-of-influence. It is a very American trait to oppose foreign control and entanglement, the type that George Washington warned America about. It is patently un-American to represent the interests of another country while holding political office in America. The sooner dual loyalist American Jews understand that political fact of life, the better off America, Iran, and the rest of the world will be.

Barack Obama, Jimmy Carter, Dwight Eisenhower, Gerald Ford, as well as the leaders of other Western countries who have criticized Israeli policies and have met with concerted Israel Lobby opposition, should know that they have universal morality on their side. They are, after all, criticized by a group of people who do not believe, as do 99 percent of the world, in some form of redemption, salvation, eternal deliverance, karmanic reincarnation, eternal soul, regeneration, or universal charity.

President Obama can take a page from President Truman in dealing with pro-Israeli correspondence: he can burn all the email, letters, and petitions. The “buck stops” at the White House and so do orders from Israel and its dual loyalists.
