OMG, Russia is dropping bombs on our terrorists

Peace loving, democracy spreading NATO and U.S. officials have expressed their concern over Russia’s decision to drop bombs in Syria.

Before the Russian planes got off the ground, media reports from the U.S. and its friendly NATO countries were already expressing concern about civilian casualties caused by the bombings.

Russian President Putin, having prepared himself for this media onslaught, has called for the media and foreign officials to verify the information before accepting the veracity of these claims. The U.S. and NATO have already embarked upon a public relations effort to demonize Russia and President Putin.

U.S. officials have stated that they are concerned that Russia is supplying arms to the Syrian army and supporting Syria’s President Assad’s government. That accusation is very true, as Putin made clear previously that he doesn’t want to see Assad’s government fall. He referred to the strategies used to topple Iraq’s Saddam Hussein and Libya’s Muammar Gaddafi. Both governments were completely disassembled, leaving them with no political leadership and leading to the chaos we are now witnessing in both countries.

As for the shipment of weapons to Syria’s army, Putin clarified that this was a fulfillment of previous treaties between the two countries and was not an arbitrary action.

The Russians reported that they struck 12 targets belonging to the IS terrorist group since starting military action in Syria. The effort is designed to provide air support to the Syrian army, which is struggling to contain the spread of jihadist militants in the war-torn country.

It is the Syrian military that is providing intelligence on prospective targets for Russian forces in Syria, which is double-checked before clearance is given to deliver a strike, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

Another piece of information that will purposefully be withheld from the public by the “free” U.S. media, is that Putin made certain that the U.S. and Israel were informed prior to the air strikes in order to avoid any potential inflammatory errors.

Russia became the 10th foreign country to bomb inside the sovereign state of Syria. The difference between Russia’s actions and that of the other nine countries is that Russia is the only country to be asked by President Assad to assume that action. Therefore, Russia is the only legal and legitimate country within the borders and air space belonging to Syria.

Some of the countries that have taken it upon themselves and are dropping bombs inside Syria’s borders and are illegally entering Syrian air space are: the U.S., the UK, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Australia, and France. Not only have the above countries never been asked to enter Syrian boundaries and have, therefore, illegally attacked this sovereign nation, but there is also no UN mandate for them to enter Syria.

The U.S. led bombing of the Islamic State (ISIS) has been a complete failure, says John Laughland, Director of Studies, Institute of Democracy and Cooperation in Paris. The difference between the Western deployment of troops and the Russian is that Moscow’s decision is being conducted in cooperation with the Syrian army. It is the Syrian army that is providing the Russians with the necessary and accurate intelligence needed to effectively bomb and destroy the terrorists while avoiding as much as possible “collateral damage” among the civilian population.

Let us not forget that the U.S., under the Bush administration, declared a war on terrorism. Yet, we have ISIS, declared by all, a barbaric terrorist organization, running free throughout Iraq and Syria despite the “coalition of the willing” dropping bombs and missiles on them for more than a year.

How does one explain photographs of armed ISIS fighters, riding in Toyota pick-up trucks in an open desert area, laughing and waving their weapons without a response from any of the “willing”?

The U.S. and its “willing” members often boast about the level of technological advancement where they can locate and intervene against antiwar or anti-imperialism, or anti-capitalism movements but cannot seem to find and attack ISIS.

This Russian move is ultimately going to expose that they, the U.S. and the “willing,” have been very much soft-handed on the ISIS terrorist organization, that they haven’t been really interested in defeating them, but are probably containing them and steering them towards defeating the Syrian government.

Secretary of State John Kerry helped define U.S. efforts in their “War on Terror” when he stated that there have been approximately 3,000 air strikes on ISIS. And still, ISIS not only remains potent but seems to be getting stronger. How does one explain the U.S. impotence?

This whole affair reminds me of Israel’s justification of their slaughter of the Palestinians in Gaza last summer. They claimed that Hamas fired over 1,000 missiles into Israel. Yet the statistics show that, while 2100 Palestinians died, only 73 Israelis were reported killed. All but six Israelis were combat soldiers. In other words, 1,000 Hamas missiles killed six Israeli citizens?

Bashar al-Assad, is the elected president of Syria. He was confirmed by the Syrian electorate twice. in 2000 and 2007, in referenda that did not include any opposing candidate.

Whatever opposition exists to his government constitutes civil unrest which must be resolved internally, not by foreign countries bombing and destroying the infrastructure of this country.

Despite the U.S.’s “War on Terror,,” it has supported, with weapons and money, the so-called moderates or should I, more accurately, call them mercenaries. These are groups that have a history of terrorism and barbaric actions against innocent civilians. What are the parameters being used by the U.S. that indicate they are moderates? This is what we call a proxy war, these groups doing the fighting with U.S. support. The only sense I can make from this description is that the “moderates” constitute any rebel group that opposes and wishes to overthrow Assad.

Once again, the U.S. and its NATO friends, those that represent the symbol and ideals of “freedom and democracy,” are attempting to overthrow a democratically elected president. In 2014, Assad ran for office against two other candidates. He received 88.7% of the popular vote. Yet, the U.S. portrays him as a dictator. This is no different than the U.S. portraying Hugo Chavez, former president of Venezuela, as a tyrant and dictator despite the fact that he was elected to office on four times.

Russia, in conjunction with Iran, the Kurds, and the Syrian army, appear to be the only ones seriously undertaking, by forming a coalition, eliminating terrorism.

After the threat of terrorism has been effectively eliminated in Syria, both Putin and Assad have been clear about the need for Assad to sit down with the opposition and negotiate a political agreement.

This makes sense to me.
