It’s been difficult for me to keep quiet about the disappearance of the three Israeli adolescents over a week ago. I’ve been accused of seeing conspiracies everywhere and that may be true, but governments lie and governments manipulate and cheat and too often we accept what they say at face value.
Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu immediately placed blame on the Palestinian Authority for the disappearance of the three Israelis but didn’t elaborate or cite facts that would verify his accusation. No one knows what happened to these three youngsters and who might be responsible, yet, Israel did not hesitate to label this a kidnapping.
Let’s look at the sequence of events leading up to the disappearance. Earlier this month, the PLO and Hamas decided to end their hostilities toward one another and form a unified government. Israel expressed anger and concern regarding the unification and cooperation of both organizations and retreated to naming Hamas a terrorist group, allowing Israel a rationale for not recognizing this new government and for destroying Hamas.
Lo and behold, we then have the disappearance of the three Israelis, allowing Netanyahu to blame Hamas and, hopefully, cause a split between the PLO and Hamas. The PLO has offered cooperation with Israel in finding the youngsters while Hamas has refused. Yet, Hamas, which had never hesitated to taking credit for actions against Israel has remained silent. There has been no communication from anyone demanding a ransom of money or prisoner exchange. The silence has been deafening.
The only voice being heard is that of Benjamin Netanyahu who has labeled this a kidnapping and has claimed there is no doubt about the Palestinians being responsible. This reminded me of the claims made by members of the Bush administration, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, and Condoleeza Rice, claiming that there was no doubt that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and taking the U.S. into more than a decade of war.
One of the things I’ve repeatedly said is that the best way to understand the meaning of any event is to look at who benefits from that event.
What benefits will accrue to the Palestinians by “kidnapping” these three young men? As I’ve said previously, if there was a demand for money or the freeing of Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli prisons, a motive would be evident. But, there’s just silence.
On the other hand, Israel’s displeasure with the new unity government of the Palestinians provides them with a motive to try and sabotage that new government, while providing the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) with a rationale for harassing the Palestinian communities while securing the sympathy of many other countries.
The IDF has assumed the right to arbitrarily enter the homes of Palestinians without having to show cause. In other words, they are not required to present evidence to an impartial judge that there is reason to suspect the target of having committed a crime. As one Palestinian suggested, the Israelis are now involved in mass punishment without disclosing evidence that a crime has been committed.
William Booth and Ruth Eglash, in their article in the Washington Post describe Israel’s response to the disappearance: “As Israel searches for three teenagers it says were kidnapped by Hamas, Israeli security forces are pursuing a parallel campaign to cripple the Islamist militant movement in the West Bank.
“In the past four nights, Israeli troops have conducted predawn raids and detained at least 240 Palestinians, most of them members of Hamas. The troops have shut down Hamas radio stations, confiscated the group’s cash, captured its weapons and jailed its top-tier political leaders across the West Bank.
“Israeli military commanders describe it as one of the most aggressive operations against Hamas in the territory in the past decade. Israel this week also deployed three combat brigades to the West Bank, supplementing the six already there.”
Netanyahu may be correct, a kidnapping has occurred. But, no one seems to know who to hold responsible for this crime. Actually, in my paranoid way, I had the thought that this could just as easily be a false flag operation. If you are unsure what is meant by false flag, read the following:
False flag (or black flag) describes covert military or paramilitary operations designed to deceive in such a way that the operations appear as though they are being carried out by entities, groups or nations other than those who actually planned and executed them. The U.S. has historically been involved in false flag conspiracies.
Here is a brief summary:
Spanish-American war, 1898: The surprise explosion of the battleship Maine at Havana, Cuba. 255 of the crew died. The Hearst press accused the Spanish, claiming that the explosion was caused by a remote-controlled mine. The USA declared war on Spain, and conquered the Philippines, Guam and Cuba. Subsequent investigations revealed that the explosion originated inside the Maine and that it was either an accident, such as a coal explosion, or some type of time bomb inside the battleship. Divers investigating the shipwreck found that the armor plates of the ship were blown bending outwards, not inwards.
World War 2, 1939-1945: The Flying Tigers volunteer air group successfully fighting the Japanese in China with some 90 fairly modern P-40Bs was another effective provocation that is not generally acknowledged by historical accounts of World War 2, most of which fail to mention any air combat action prior to 7th December 1941. But at that time the Japanese had already lost about 100 military aircraft, mostly bombers, to the Tigers. After Pearl Harbor these squadrons were some of the the hardest-hitting ones in the US service.
The attack on Pearl Harbor followed some 6 months later. Having broken the Japanese encryption codes, the Americans knew what was going to happen, when and where, but the president did not dispatch this information to Pearl Harbor.
Vietnam War: “The Tonkin incident”, where the American destroyer Maddox was supposedly attacked twice by three North Vietnamese torpedo boats in 1964 in the Gulf of Tonkin never happened. What was happening at the time were aggressive South Vietnamese raids against the North in the same general area.
Desert Storm (First Gulf war, 1991): Saddam Hussein asked for permission from the US to invade Kuwait (via their ambassador April Gillespie) and got an answer that the US does not care about Arab quarrels. That was a trap, and after Saddam occupied Kuwait, George Bush Sr. mobilized a coalition of some 40 nations to “liberate Kuwait” and to smash the recently-built Iraqi military power base.
Please note, that I’ve taken special precautions to avoid adding 9-11 to this list of false flag operations.
Why do I refer to this type of strategy? Israel has the most to gain from this sudden disappearance of these three Israelis. From my experience and perspective, it is not beyond possibility that the Israelis (Mossad) is involved. False flag operations have been used many times by many countries to mobilize their citizens to support some action which they would not ordinarily support.
Governments are ruthless and we are all expendable.

The disappearance
