The ISIL cult has degenerated radically into animality and surpassed regions of barbarity where the devils fear to tread.
Whatever the human mind can conceive of the level of savagery a person can be relegated to, the ISIL terrorists are the living proofs of that implausibility.
In an appalling report, UN Committee on the Rights of the Child has lambasted “the systematic killing of children . . . including several cases of mass executions of boys, as well as reports of beheadings, crucifixions of children and burying children alive.”
The idea that children are the new targets of the ISIL terrorists is a heart-rending one indeed. The photos circulated on the Internet show Iraqi children mainly from the minority groups mutilated, crucified, beheaded and buried alive. Sadly, Iraqi children are currently paying the price for US belligerent policies in the war-ravaged country. After all, the ISIL cult is the by-product of the imperialist agenda of Washington in Iraq.
Parenthetically, I heard my postgraduate Iraqi students tell me that parts of Iraq are swarming with venomous snakes, pigs and crocodiles. My initial impression was that they were speaking metaphorically and that they were hinting at the ISIL terrorists as snakes and crocodiles. Then they clarified to me that they were referring to real snakes and crocodiles and when I asked why, they said Washington has filled the country with these dangerous animals to strike terror into the hearts of the Iraqis. Besides, they would make the land unsafe for the population.
The children brutalised by the ISIL do not come only from the minorities; rather, they come from all families who do not form allegiance with the army of terror.
Apart from that, the UN report indicates that ISIL militants are using children, particularly those mentally harmed, as suicide bombers and human shields. In fact, this group of children regardless of their intellectual immaturity are so psychologically damaged that they do not really know what they do.
“We have had reports of children, especially children who are mentally challenged, who have been used as suicide bombers, most probably without them even understanding,” Renate Winter, a member of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child (CRC), told Reuters.
In the heart of darkness where the ISIL terrorists are now groping around, they will hardly find a way into the light.
War is most merciless to children and exacts an enormous toll on them. To the list of the crimes perpetrated by ISIL, also add the crimes committed by the UK and the US in the country. It is now a proven fact that the US and the UK have deployed hundreds of tons of depleted uranium (DU) against Iraq, whereby endangering the lives of the Iraqi people. A crime of mammoth dimensions, the deployment of depleted uranium (DU) will cause tremendously destructive effects which can remain for hundreds of years and can cause cancer, leukaemia, brain damage, kidney failure, and extreme birth defects.
In Fallujah, there is a mounting degree of severe congenital birth defects, including children being born with two heads, children born with only one eye, multiple tumours, disfiguring facial and body deformities, and complex nervous system problems.
Besides, there is an alarmingly increasing rate of cancers among children who often spend their time in the contaminated playgrounds. In fact, the Iraqi environment is contaminated with the DU and the bullets of the US army in the country.
According to the figures of the US General Accounting Office, American armed forces expended six billion bullets between 2002 and 2005 in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The US troops may have left the country but the baneful influence of their presence is bitterly felt in every nook and cranny of the country.
This monstrosity aside, the US army is still fighting in the country under the new guise of ISIL militants. Well, they speak English, have high-tech cameras and sophisticated weapons at their disposal and have access to all social media. Is it not strange?
Shia and Sunni Muslims and leaders have unanimously vociferated their wrath and acrimony over the atrocities of the ISIL cult all across the globe. No Muslim is there in the world who may legitimise what they are doing in the name of Islam.
A letter signed by over 100 Muslim leaders severely berates the ISIL’s “barbaric acts, which [they] pretend are for the sake of Islam.” ISIL has “given the world a stick with which to beat Islam, whereas in reality Islam is completely innocent of these acts and prohibits them.” They are “not just considered un-Islamic, but anti-Islamic.”
Concerning the Yazidi minorities who have been indefensibly persecuted by ISIL, the letter says, “They neither fought you nor Muslims. You considered them Satanists and gave them the choice to either be killed or be forced into Islam. You killed hundreds of them and buried them in mass graves. You caused the death and suffering of hundreds of others.”
Muslims are not killing Muslims. The ISIL are the spawns of the wicked, of the Great Satan who are now pursuing the war they launched against the Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan but in a new form and with a new name.
The horror! ISIL cult beheads, crucifies Iraqi children
