Join the march to save Venezuelan democracy

Tuesday morning CNN went all out, as a member of USA state propaganda, to continue to participate in support of a Venezuelan coup.

In this episode, CNN concentrated on one woman telling how she cares for children and they are hungry. CNN did not mention the USA is withholding Venezuelan funds used for food and medicine for such children. They falsely blame the government of Venezuela.

When the Venezuelan oligarchs (now coup leaders) were in power, CNN never cared about hungry children, and there were many more hungry then. Much of the majority mestizo population lived in abject poverty under the rule of the old capitalist oligarchs the USA is trying to put back in power.

Under Hugo Chavez, the poor of Venezuela began, for the first time, to be supported with food from the state oil company profits. They also received medical care through a deal Chavez made with Cuba to supply Cuba with inexpensive oil in return for Cuban doctors and medicine. Chavez also began a massive housing program.

CNN has not mentioned any of this, in their effort to stick to convenient lies for toppling Venezuelan democracy. It’s hard to imagine any totalitarian media propaganda worse than this. Our government has done everything it can to destroy Venezuela’s economy in bringing about this situation.

CNN, and corporate media in general, are trying to make it look like it is the fault of Venezuela’s government. CNN has given its support to Trump’s puppet, Juan Guaido, who represents the old oligarchy whose plan is to privatize the oil and keep its profits for the wealthy at the expense of the Venezuelan people.

Abby Martin did the best short but comprehensive video explaining what is really happening around the incessant corporate media propaganda. The mainstream press refuse to allow so much as a kernel of truth to get to the American people, preparing them to accept a coup, much as they prepared the public for the illegal invasion of Iraq by constantly repeating lies that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction.

If you would like to oppose this blatant propaganda effort, join the protest in Washington this Saturday. Nothing makes a person feel better than uniting with a sea of protesters standing up for truth and justice. It is the last remnant of democracy remaining in “The Land of the Free.”
