(WMR)—Glendon Crawford and Eric Feight, an employee of GE in Schenectady, New York, and a GE contractor, respectively, have been charged by federal prosecutors with attempting to develop a remotely-activated X-ray weapon and sell it the Israelis in order to kill President Obama and kill “Israel’s enemies while they slept.”
The criminal complaint filed against Crawford and Feight said the targets included a “political figure” and a “Muslim organization.” ABC News said the political figure was Obama.
Crawford and Feight, assisted by others, “successfully completed the building, testing, and demonstration of a remote initiation device,” according to the complaint. The complaint states the conspirators planned to “integrate that remote initiation device into a truck-borne, industrial-grade x-ray system, thus weaponizing that system and allowing it to be turned off and on at a distance without detection.”
In April 2012, Crawford contacted two Jewish organizations for funding for “off the shelf” technology to manufacture the weapon. Calling the device “Hiroshima on a light switch,” Crawford said the x-ray emitting device could deliver a lethal dose of 8 to 10 grays—a gray is a unit of ionizing radiation such as x-rays or gamma rays—upon a Muslim community, which Crawford referred to as “medical waste.”
The criminal complaint does not identify the two Jewish organizations to which Crawford and Feight pitched their proposal.* Crawford said the weapon could “serve our people well.” Kitat Konenut, a Jewish paramilitary group, has been active in upstate New York and the Albany area training Jews in the use of weapons and hand-to-hand combat with the assistance of Israel Defense Force (IDF) members.
On April 11, Crawford visited an Albany synagogue and asked for assistance in creating a weapon that would kill Israel’s enemies while they slept. After assistance was refused, the same day Crawford contacted another Jewish organization in Albany by telephone and made a similar offer. The second Jewish organization was not in contact with the local FBI office until April 20, nine days later.
Last October, the FBI used an undercover Ku Klux Klan official in Greensboro, North Carolina and two of his KKK business associates, as confidential informants to obtain further details of Crawford’s plan. The complaint also states that Crawford was trying to purchase false identity documents in the name of “Dmitri.” In August 2012, Crawford also met in Tennessee with a “person B” to discuss financing for the weapon.
* The synagogue in question was later identified as Congregation Gates of Heaven, a Reform temple. The other organization is the Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York.
