A call for progressive unity and a plan for getting there

Of the many obstacles preventing democracy from breaking out in the land, progressives contribute themselves in several ways. Continue reading

Is Israel the sole determinant of us presidential elections?

They say they are . . .

Are the elections results of US presidential elections determined by 2 percent of the population? Can the five million or so Jewish population be counted as the US majority? Does the Israel lobby shape the majority of US voters’ decisions? Is Israel the main determinant of political elections’ results when it comes to high US public offices? Continue reading

Boycott undemocratic U.S. elections

U.S. elections for the Congress, Senate and presidency that require millions of dollars to be considered a serious candidate are undemocratic. To inform the public, U.S. elections require coverage in the mainstream corporate media. The corporate media refuses to cover candidates that do not support U.S. empire and capitalism. Thus, the public is uninformed of the great issues of the day and our system is undemocratic to the core. Continue reading

Could Donald trump Obama?

If I had to bet my house on who the next US president will be, President Barack Obama wouldn’t be on my list. Ohio Republicans pass new Jim Crow law disenfranchising 900,000 voters

While Ohio public employees’ rights to bargain collectively are under siege, the Ohio Republican Party executed a perfect sleight of hand by disenfranchising nearly 900,000 Ohio voters. In the most vicious and direct attack on voting rights since Bull Connor ran amok in the deep South, Ohio House Republicans passed HB 159 that requires Ohio voters to produce one of four state photo IDs at the polls. Toward more effective approaches

(And why hacking demos are now insanity)

About once a week, I am asked to bring in a team somewhere and demonstrate the hacking of a voting system. I don’t, because I’ve concluded this is a form of insanity, tracking the old adage that insanity is repeating the same behavior over and over again and expecting a different result. Continue reading
